Room Makeovers

This year we decided to give Kyle and Chase room makeovers for their Birthday's. For Kyle this was badly needed. He hardly fit in his twin bed anymore and had the same furniture he had had since he's been in a bed. This is Kyle's room before.

Kyle's room after. Sorry for the spots on the pictures, my camera wasn't working right.

Yes, we did buy Chase drums. I know that is crazy, but he has been asking for over a year and hasn't lost interest so we felt like we better support him. We did make rules for when he can play them.

Disneyland 2010

I know you are probably thinking you have seen this post before. This is the forth year in a row that we have gone to see Mickey Mouse in October. This trip was a last minute decision and ended up being so fun. We spent 4 days at Disneyland and with so much time were able to avoid the crowds by coming and going whenever it was busy. It was fun being together as a family and was a good way to get away from all the pressures at home. (All of the other pictures are in a slide show on the side of the page.)

Grandpa Stewart's 80th Birthday

We celebrated Ron's dad's 80th birthday by doing a day in the life of Ed Stewart. We drove around Utah County and Fairview seeing places he had lived and worked and gone to school. I loved hearing all his stories about growing up in Fairview and starting his family and career. I have the best Father-in-law and love him very much. I was lucky to marry into such a great family.

Labor Day!

For Labor Day we took the kids to the Children's Museum in Salt Lake. They had a good time playing at each of the exhibits. We realized it was geared more for our youngest two more than our oldest two, but they were good sports. Our family is growing up and changing so much that it is hard to find activities for all of them.

First day of Kindergarten!

This was Brooklynn's first day of school. She is loving school and has a great teacher. I can't believe my youngest is now in school. I guess it is time to start thinking about what to do next.

We didn't do anything fun this summer!!

The other day my son told me we didn't do anything fun this summer. I guess sometimes our memories our short, thank goodness we have pictures to remind us how much fun we have.

We spent the evening at the Lindon pool for a customer appreciation party for our orthodontist. We had a great time and Chase and Ron loved doing the Flo Rider. Ron even flipped over on his board even though it was the first time he had tried it.

Brooklynn celebrated her 5th birthday at Kangaroo Zoo.

We spent some fun time as a family up at Snowbird. My parents are very generous to share their condo with the whole family. (I do love all my kids equally, my teenagers just like to spend their time with cousins, so I don't get as many pictures of them.)

Kyle and Ron spent a few days at Yuba lake for scout camp.

Forth of July Hikes

We have all these big plans of places we want to hike to this summer. We were able to get two good hikes in during the weekend of the 4th. First we hiked to Battlecreek falls, then we hiked to a place called Big Springs up South fork canyon. The weather was so nice and both places were very pretty.

First Job!

Kyle worked for 2 1/2 days in June for our neighbor who is a roofer. I had to get a picture of how dirty he was when he came home. I hope he worked as hard as it looks. Good Job Kyle!

Who takes their kids to Vegas?

Ron had his annual meetings in Las Vegas and we decided to take the kids this year since we had a family reunion in Zion's the second half of the week. Las Vegas really isn't my favorite place to go visit and the kids pretty much felt the same. We did have a good time. We stayed in a Marriott timeshare just off of the strip so Ron could walk to his meetings. It was very nice and I loved having lots of room to entertain my kids for 2 1/2 days. The first day we went to the Circus Circus Adventuredome. The kids enjoyed this even if there was only about 10 rides they went on over and over again. It also kept us out of the 108 degree temperature.

The next day we stayed around the condo and swam and played games. That night we walked over to the Bellagio to meet Ron after his meetings.

The only safe view on the Strip. The Bellagio Fountains.

After Ron was done in Vegas we had an extra day before the Reunion so we spent it in St. George and went to see Tarzan at Tuachan. We had a great time and the show was great.

The last few days of our week were spent at the Ponderosa ranch near Zion's. It was a fun place for a reunion with lots of activites for the kids. They swam, did a zipline, climbed a climbing wall, and rode around all the trails in a Rhino. Kyle even got to drive so he was really excited. We had a busy week and were glad to get home and sleep in our own beds.

Peter Pan Dance Recital

We just had our end of the year dance recital. Both of my girls did a great job and Brooklynn loved performing on the big stage.

Brooklynn's Preschool Graduation!

Brooklynn graduated from preschool this year and is ready to go to Kindergarten. I can't believe I will have all my kids in school and am graduating myself from this stage of life. This fall I'm going to need advise on what to do next.
