Chase was very lucky this year to be put on a great Flag Football team and a great Soccer team. His teams won first place in both sports. His Flag football team did so good they were undefeated the whole season. Chase had a blast playing even when he was so cold he couldn't feel his fingers. Good Job Chase!
My boys have birthdays 3 days apart so it makes for a busy and exciting time. Kyle has been wanting a Ping Pong table so we decided to get him one this year. Chase got a bigger motor scooter so he wouldn't be the slowest one in the neighborhood. I also made them shadow boxes with all their scouting awards in them. Chase saw one a few months ago at pack meeting and thought that it would be cool to have one. I can't believe my boys are getting so old. Kyle turned 17 and Chase is now 11. Happy Birthday!
This year for Fall Break we had the Stewart Family Reunion. We stayed at a beautiful Cabin in Timberlakes. It was so fun being away for a few days and spending time with family. We had a Ping Pong tournament that my brother-in-law Bob won. We had a Halloween Party which included decorating pumpkins, a mummy wrap game, donut's on a string and pictionary. The boys all left and went to the BYU game and the girls and kids went to see a movie. We also decorated T-shirts. It was a great weekend spending time as a family and celebrating five of the kids birthday's.
My parents had a timeshare up at the Mountainside Marriott and invited us up to play and swim. We had a great time doing the Alpine Slide and Coaster, Zipline, and Brooklynn loved all the activities at the bottom of the hill. After playing at the Mountain resort my parents took us to dinner and then the kids swam before heading home. It was perfect timing for all the fall leaves. It was beautiful!!
Even though our reunion started off with lots of packing and some crazy weather, we had a great time at the Heber Valley Camp. It was fun to be together with my family. We had good food, creative skits and singing around the camp fire. I love spending time with Family!!!
We have gone to our last pack meeting!! I know I should be sad that Chase is growing up, but if it means no more pack meetings I will take it. I am very proud of Chase. He not only earned his Arrow of Light, but he also finshed all 20 activity badges in the Weeblos book. He really wanted to finish them all so we spent August and September working on the badges he hadn't done yet. It was a lot of work, but he was so excited to get the special patch for doing them all. I am just hoping he won't want to earn all the 100+ Boy scout merit badges.
It is hard to get my whole family together, but we had a break in missionaries this summer and thought we better get an updated picture taken before our next missionary leaves.
I decided I better do a quick update of summer to get caught up. This summer was busy, but it was the first summer we didn't have any big family activities. Ron went to Moab with the Teachers for scout camp and Kyle went to Havasupai with the Priests. Haley had Girls Camp at Mutual Dell and then spent a week at BYU for EFY.
We spent the summer going to Seven Peaks, movies and playing with friends. We did spend one day together at Lagoon and celebrated Brooklynn's 6th Birthday at Jump on it. Even though summer went fast and we had lots of fun, I am glad to have the kids back in school and more of a routine back in our lives.
Brooklynn had her end of the year Dance Recital. She did a great job and if I can remeber how to down load the video I will put them on my Blog. Here is a picture of her friends that are in her Dance class. They are all so cute!!!!
Chase went to Webelos Extreme and had a great time. They made boondoggles, neckerchief slides and Bracelets. They learned how to start fires and tie knots and played a game of ultimate Frisbee. Chase's favorite thing was making the neckerchief slide.
Ron had to go to Kansas City to present some financial reports at a conference and since they were paying his way, I decided to tag along with him. We were able to visit many church sites, museums, and saw almost every road around the city. (Our Mom's would be proud)
We spent one day at all the Church sites. Starting at Adam-ondi-ahman. Then we went to Haun's Mill. There is nothing there anymore, but it was a very pretty area. Next we went to Far West and saw the corner stones for the temple. Then we spent some time at Liberty Jail and then the Visitor's center in Independence. We really enjoyed spending the day thinking about what it would have been like to live back during the early days of the church. Their trials were definitely different from ours, but we are so grateful for their example and their sacrifices. The next day we went to the Harry S. Truman Museum and Library and then we spent the afternoon at a museum called the Steamboat Arabia. It was a fun educational day about the history of the area and the important part Kansas City played in History. The last day we also visited a few more museums. We went to the Union Station museum, the Hallmark museum and then went and played a little at the College Basketball Hall of Fame experience. We had a great trip, but next time I'm hoping for something a little more tropical with lots more to do.
